I Am My Colleague’s Keeper – Ethical Obligations Upon an Attorney’s Illness, Incapacity or Death
Get actionable advice for fulfilling your professional responsibility when an attorney’s ability to practice law changes. The discussion includes whether the person is going to continue working, a plan for handing over files, assessment, if there is a possibility an attorney was working while impaired, disclosure and reporting if there is an issue.

Ethical Considerations When Working with End-of-Life Clients – A Trauma-Informed Approach to Issues of Capacity, Confidentiality, and Representation
Learn how to assess and document client capacity, understanding that it can fluctuate and is impacted by lived experiences as well as a medical diagnoses. Explore the delicate balance of maintaining client confidentiality, especially when dealing with family or healthcare providers. Analyze your ethical duty to advocate for your client’s wishes and decisions. A trauma-informed approach will be emphasized, providing tools to create a supportive environment and recognize the impact of grief and loss on clients and their families.
