The Chevron deference doctrine is a nearly 40-year old precedent that grants federal agencies significant leeway in interpreting the scope of their own powers. The doctrine has essentially become a household name during this term with the amount of attention that Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless, Inc. v. Department of Commerce have received. Join University of Minnesota Law professor Kristin Hickman, a national expert in administrative law, for a look at the Chevron Doctrine, how it works, and how it has evolved, followed by a review of the issues before the Court, takeaways from the oral arguments, and potential outcomes in Loper Bright and Relentless.
