This course is designed for attorneys, HR specialists, managers, administrators, and others who want to become qualified neutral civil mediators or develop their conflict resolution skills. You do not have to be an attorney to become a qualified neutral civil mediator. Completion of this 30-hour training qualifies participants for inclusion on the state roster of mediation neutrals.
Each day our faculty focuses on different aspects of mediation. This highly interactive course also includes role-playing and observation of mediations. By coaching mediators through mock mediations our instructors help you put mediation theory into practice.

Our three lead faculty are all attorneys with extensive experience in civil and family mediation and as mediation trainers. We invite several guest speakers with special expertise in mediation ethics, communication, the psychology of mediation, and cultural aspects of mediation to teach those portions of the program.

This skills training course is certified for 30 hours of mediation classroom training by the Supreme Court’s Office of Continuing Education, required by Rule 114.12 to provide mediation, med-arb and mini-trial services. Thus, it meets the requirements for inclusion on the statewide qualified neutrals roster civil facilitative/hybrid processes (mediation) roster.
Minnesota CLE also has applied to the Minnesota State Board of Continuing Legal Education for 30 hours CLE credit (includes 1 hour ethics credit and 1 hour elimination of bias credit). The maximum number of total credits attendees may claim for this course is 30.0 credits.
In addition to the standard course materials, attendees also will receive a copy of the Minnesota ADR Handbook, a one-stop resource and indispensable guide to the statutes, rules and requirements governing alternative dispute resolution in Minnesota.
