Animal cruelty cases are on the rise, and these cases can present unique problems for prosecutors and law enforcement officers. This presentation will discuss the evidentiary, statutory and sentencing options in animal abuse cases. In addition, this presentation will explore the connection between animal cruelty and other types of violence and criminal activity, and how the ability to tie crimes together can lead to a stronger case.
