Introversion Versus Extroversion in the Legal Profession: Why It Matters and How to Collaborate Better

The legal profession, and western culture, may portray extroversion as the ideal set-up for success, yet we know better – I hope. We can all think of examples of where someone being too extroverted led to a bad outcome. However, the value of introverted styles and approaches still goes unrecognized in a lot of ways – this to the detriment of teamwork, individual relationships and wellbeing, your client’s satisfaction, and the success of your team and firm. This one-hour presentation provides deeper insights into and discusses:

  • What happens when we confuse confidence and ‘easy talking’ with competence;
  • Differences in energy, thinking, responding, and style between introverts and extroverts;
  • How to understand self and others better and maximize your personal potential;
  • How introverts and extroverts can improve their relationships and collaboration.

This interactive, engaging, and practical session will strengthen collaboration on your legal teams, help build trusting relationships with clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders that are on the other side of the spectrum from you, and it will strengthen your effectiveness within the firm.
