A fast-paced overview of major decisions this term unrelated to actions by the current Trump Administration. Cases include decisions addressing religious liberty, ghost guns, voting rights, federal jurisdiction, and more.

PART 2: THE “TRUMP” CASES

The Supreme Court’s Emergency Docket, Nationwide Injunctions, and the Scope of Presidential Powers  (60 MINUTES)
We examine the Court’s use this term of its emergency docket, along with ongoing debates over the authority of federal trial courts to issue nationwide injunctions. We discuss the legal standards, arguments, and implications – with a particular focus on how these high-impact decisions interpret the substantive scope of presidential authority. Topics include President Trump’s extensive executive orders, imposition of tariffs, immigration and removal of aliens, dismissal of senior agency officials, and massive layoffs of federal employees.
