Recognizing and accommodating diverse religious and cultural practices surrounding death and bereavement is critically important to representing clients and interacting with colleagues in a sensitive and culturally responsive manner. This session provides practical ways for fostering respectful client interactions, maintaining inclusive workplace environments and decreasing bias and stigma in legal proceedings.

Elimination of Bias: Understanding and Accommodating Religious and Cultural Rituals and Traditions During Times of Loss (120 MINUTES)
Recognizing and accommodating diverse religious and cultural practices surrounding death and bereavement is critically important to representing clients and interacting with colleagues in a sensitive and culturally responsive manner. In this session attorneys will gain a deeper understanding of the various rituals, traditions, and beliefs that individuals and families may observe during times of loss, fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment in legal proceedings, client interactions, and workplace environments and decreasing the bias and stigma attorneys and clients may face when navigating the legal system in the midst of grief and loss.
