The government funding package signed on November 12, 2025, includes major federal changes for the hemp industry – changes that take effect at the end of 2026 and could reclassify many widely sold hemp-derived products as Schedule I substances. This session breaks down what’s in the new law, the FDA’s forthcoming role, how the revised definition of “hemp” may impact state programs, CBD production, and interstate commerce, and what businesses and regulators should expect during the next year of uncertainty.
