Elimination of Bias – Building Generational Diversity

Originally presented:  March 24, 2021     |     Course length:  2.0 hours

This course explores:

  • The differences among the generations (Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Y) who interact with each other in legal workplaces and other settings.
  • Why each generation possesses a different set of values, and why these differences can be sources of misunderstandings, conflict and bias.
  • How embracing generational diversity contributes to a successful law practice.

Navigating and Embracing Generational Differences  (60 MINUTES)
Lawyers work every day with clients, colleagues, and staff of different ages and generations. Each generation has its own distinct perspective on life and work. These differences can be fodder for bias and conflict when generations collide. Understanding generational differences and appreciating the contributions of each generation can go a long way to reducing bias and conflict related to age in multigenerational situations. What’s your generational IQ? Find out in this interactive and informative session exploring generational differences.

All in the Family – The Benefits of a Multi-Generational Law Practice  (60 MINUTES)
With two husband/wife teams, and a mother/daughter duo for good measure, Bruno Law eschews age-based and gender-based stereotyping and opts for diversity and inclusion. This family of lawyers leverages strengths and talents across generations and genders to represent their clients and grow their practice. Join them for a practical, insightful conversation about the benefits of a multi-generational law practice, how they’ve overcome generational bias and ways to create a firm culture that values all experience levels.
