The Minneapolis Civil Rights Ordinance: Recent Amendments and Expanded Protections

On May 1, 2025, the Minneapolis City Council unanimously approved amendments to the city’s Civil Rights Ordinance, including the addition of several new anti-discrimination protections. These amendments will impact employers in Minneapolis and those who hire employees who work in Minneapolis. Join Anne Marie Buethe and learn what these new protections entail, as well as how they fit into the current framework of the Ordinance and into a wider trend of protections nationally.
