It is a well-known fact that emotional intelligence (EQ) is critical to your success. EQ is the key to understanding yourself, managing your emotions, having social awareness, and managing relationships. EQ is essential to running your law office, to evaluating a witness, to handling a client, or for sizing up a jury. A high EQ helps you predict, manage, and adapt to many different situations, especially the challenging ones.
What are the keys to strengthening your emotional intelligence? What hurdles can get in the way? What is the best way to recognize a low EQ in others? And how should that recognition impact how you relate with that person? This presentation draws mainly from Gestalt psychology and from Daniel Goleman’s insights into EQ to address these questions and to provide you with specific insights and techniques that you can immediately apply on the job and beyond.
