Minnesota utilizes two real estate recording systems. The “abstract system,” governed by Minnesota Statutes chapters 507 and 386, is administered by the county recorder. The “Torrens system,” which is governed by Minnesota Statutes chapters 508 and 508A, is administered by the county registrar of titles. Join Wayne Anderson and Nathan Bissonette for this instructive presentation on the proper procedure for recording commercial real estate in Minnesota.
