Nothing About Us Without Us: A Waiting Room Conversation with Jason Sole and Antonio Williams. The conversation will be about the work-during-the-wait: the value of community organizing and the importance of change being shaped and led by the people most affected by the current criminal legal system.
Jason is an author, educator, and abolitionist whose project, Humanize My Hoodie, takes fashion activism to the next level: the movement's mission is to debunk the myth of Black criminality "by designing revolutionary social justice campaigns for Black and Indigenous People of Color to be HUMANIZED, not criminalized." Antonio is a community organizer at Yes 4 Minneapolis, a Black-led campaign composed of a growing coalition of grassroots, community organizations, and individuals who believe a people’s petition is the best path forward for implementing a new Department of Public Safety in the city.
