Introduction to Chapter 7 – The Liquidation Bankruptcy for Individuals
This session will provide an overview of Chapter 7 which is the main vehicle for individuals to liquidate through bankruptcy. Learn the main steps of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy from initial client meeting to discharge. Understand what income, expenses, and assets come into play, what the Means Test is, main creditor issues and preferences, fraudulent conveyances, timing of case filings, automatic stays, case administration, working with the court and the Trustees, and the difference between discharge vs. dismissal.

Introduction to Chapter 13 – The Reorganization Bankruptcy for Individuals
This session will provide an overview of what a Chapter 13 bankruptcy entails. Learn about the basic process of a Chapter 13 bankruptcy from filing to confirmation to discharge. Understand the most common reasons for entering a Chapter 13. Also gain familiarity with some of the concepts associated with Chapter 13s such as best interest, best efforts, and feasibility. Lean about proofs of claims, plan modifications, conversions, hardship discharges, dismissals and discharges.
