Minnesota Rules of Evidence: Impeachment – Questioning the Credibility of a Witness

This presentation is a replay of a webcast originally presented June 7, 2023.

Impeachment evidence has the goal of discrediting or undermining the credibility of a witness by casting doubt on the reliability of their testimony. Because this method can be so effective and may involve matters outside the scope of the issues at trial, the rules of evidence have carefully delineated principles for admission and exclusion.
