Retirement accounts are generally a (if not THE) major asset for most clients. Estate planning for retirement accounts requires consideration of both trust law issues and income tax issues. This session will discuss planning options and strategies using the Drafting Wills & Trust Agreement forms considering the requirements of the SECURE Act and other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and the related Treasury Regulations. Additionally, panelists will share their experiences in practice with various real-life examples of how these planning options and strategies have played out when administering an estate.
