The hearsay rules discussed in this presentation guide the admissibility of hearsay statements in particular situations, such as when the declarant is unavailable, the adverse party wishes to impeach a non-testifying declarant, or hearsay within hearsay exists. Additionally, these rules include a "catch-all" to the rule against hearsay.
