The world of school law is completely foreign to most family law attorneys, yet many (if not most) of our clients have children who attend school. Often, our clients disagree about which school path is best for their child, or have a child with special needs and disagree about the best interventions (or even whether to evaluate the child for interventions at all). We will explore the universe of information family law attorneys and judicial officers ought to know about school law and special education, provide a glossary of terms, and offer practical guidance for assisting parents navigating disputes in these areas.
