Eighth Circuit Appellate Practice: Oral Argument

Oral argument is the highlight of most every appeal. The panel will discuss both theory and practice, and based on their extensive experience, will address:

• the importance of oral argument,
• the frequency of oral argument,
• how the judges prepare for oral argument,
• what judges are looking for during oral argument,
• what they find to be the most effective for oral advocates,
• what is the least effective, and
• how the oral argument experience has changed in the era of video presentations
