In this presentation, David Vieau will first provide a history of the ASTM Standard for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, from 1993 to present, focusing on the critical developments that help explain how we arrived at where we are today. David will then outline the important recent revisions in the Phase I standard and associated performance requirements of the EPA’s All Appropriate Inquiries Rule. Learn what these developments mean to the commercial real estate industry, and how to use the ASTM standards to provide guidance on how to comply with statutory requirements in order to qualify for landowner liability protections under Minnesota and federal Superfund laws.
