The New Federal Tax Law: Changes to Benefits, Compensation, and Employment Settlements

Originally presented:  July 19, 2018     |     Course length:  1.0 hour

The changes made by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act impact employers’ benefits, compensation, employment and payroll practices. These impacts include:

  • Pay practices: The changes impact the taxation of a range of fringe benefits, limit deductions on compensation, and impact payroll.
  • Settlements: The changes impact deductions relating to sexual harassment settlements and are a good reason to review taxation of settlements in general.

This presentation will cover these impacts and what employers should do.
