New federal audit rules – currently scheduled to go into effect January 1, 2018 – allow the IRS to audit LLCs including multimember LLCs at the entity level and assess and collect taxes against the LLC, unless the LLC elects out of the new regime. This session will address the importance of evaluating LLC operating agreements to make sure they adequately address the new audit rules.
