This presentation is designed to provide an overview of the environmental issues that commonly arise in real estate transactions encountered by business and real estate practitioners. Presenters Joe Maternowski and Dana Wagner will review environmental laws that impact the due diligence process and discuss how Phase I Environmental Site Assessments are used to identify environmental liability concerns. Presenters also will address follow-up investigations, proper handling of findings of soil, groundwater and soil vapor contamination, the availability of liability assurances and best practices to limit liability.
