Tuesday, October 28, 2014 Employment Law Series: The Minnesota Veterans Preference Act – Everything You Need to Know from Hiring to Firing In this presentation, the speakers will focus on the Minnesota Veterans Preference Act and its implications for public employers and employees, ranging from hiring protocol to disciplinary action and discharge. The program will feature two experienced employment law attorneys who will share their knowledge and experiences in dealing with Veterans Preference issues from both the employer’s and employee’s perspectives. Topics will include: hiring scoring systems; affirmative action implications; discipline and discharge; as well as a discussion of strategies for handling common Veterans Preference scenarios.
